The San Francisco Redevelopment Agency (the "Agency") has helped create thousands of units of affordable housing for people who live and work in San Francisco. Designated units are availble for rent or purchase and are made affordable to households at particular income levels. This website allows the public to obtain essential information about the Agency's affordable housing opportunities easily and efficiently. Here, you will find information about the Agency's housing programs and how you can access this affordable housing. The information is broken down into three major areas: MULTI-FAMILY RENTAL, AFFORDABLE HOMES FOR SALE, and HOUSING FOR SENIORS AND DISABLED PERSONS. Clicking on these categories will lead you to the relevant page. You may also use the menu at the far left side of the page to switch between categories. Also, be sure to check out the RESOURCES for links to valuable information.
For information about the Agency's Certificate of Preference Program, see the new CERTIFICATE OF PREFERENCE page.

INCOME LIMITS
General Income Limits
The Agency sets maximum incomes for all affordable units. These limits can vary from unit to unit and from location to location. The PDF file below lists the 2009 Area Median Income (AMI) levels for the San Francisco Metropolitan Area. The income levels are adjusted for household size. For example, many affordable rental units serve households earning up to 60% AMI. This translates into $40,650 for a single person, and $58,100 for a four-person household. Be sure to check the income limits for the specific property in which you are interested. Either the property manager or Agency staff can help if you have questions about how to determine your eligibility.
Please note that income limits are adjusted each year based on data provided by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
